The Last Winter (NY):
Key Players: Ron Perlman, James LeGross, Connie Britton
Tag Line: The arctic tundra has been frozen for centuries... and so has what lies beneath.
The Jist:In the Artctic region of Northern Alaska, an oil company's advance team struggles to establish a drilling base that will forever alter the pristine land. After one team member is found dead, a disorientation slowly claims the sanity of the others as each of them succumbs to a mysterious fear.
Yay, Nay or Rental Play?:Man vs. Nature. Man vs. Man. Man vs. Big Scary Animal... What is unkown is often what is scariest to those who dare to discover it. This seems to have some Stephen King feel to it... so I wonder if we should be expecting some stupid twist at the end that ruins the whole movie?

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford(limited):
Key Players: Brad Pitt, Mary-Louise Parker, Casey Affleck, Sam Rockwell, Sam Shepard
Tag Line: Robert Ford joins Jesse James's gang, only to become resentful of the legendary outlaw and hatch a plan to kill the fastest gun in the West.
The Jist: This delves into the private life and public expoits of America's most notorious outlaw. As the charismatic and unpredictable Jesse James plans his next great robbery, he wages was on his enemies, who are trying to collect the reward money - and the glory - riding on his capture. But the greates threat to his life may ultimately come from those he trusts most [comingsoon.com].
Yay, Nay or Rental Play?: Yessss.... Another Western :) I'm already depressed because we know from the begginning James (pitt) is going to die - and so we'll have to suffer through 110 minutes or so of getting to see how great he reall was, the friendships, the hottness... all to have him die in the end. I'm probably going to be crying... but if it's half as good as 3:10 to Yuma, I will be more than appeased that Hollywood managed to put out two great movies in one month. Go Hollywood!
Good Luck Chuck:
Key Players: Dane Cook, Jessica Alba
Tag Line: Sleep with Charlie once, and the next man you meet will be your true love.
The Jist: In order to keep the woman of his dreams from falling for another guy, Charlie Logan has to break the curse that has made him wildly popular with single women [imdb].
Yay, Nay or Rental Play?: I keep seeing this preview and thinking stupid. STUPID! If a trillion girls are going to throw themselves at a guy in order to meet their true love - shouldn't the guy be a little more of a challenge (and maybe with a little more of a weight problem/ingrown hairs/ balding/disgusting habbits) than babe-a-licious DANE COOK? Oh.. life's so hard. I have to do Dane Cook. Dear Dane, can you please come to Denver and Do me? Maybe 5 times. SO i can meet 5 times the normal man? That'd be awesome. Love, Sami. But look... honestly, I'd love to share some popcorn and sour patch kids with one of my best guy friends and laugh a lot about this. And i'll probably go sometime in the next week -- but i'll wait if one of you hot guys out there wants to take me...preferably.... Mr. Cook.
Into the Wild :
Key Players: Vince Vaughn, Emile Irsch, William Hurt
Tag Line:Your large adventure on Alaska.
The Jist: After graduating from Emory University in 1992, top student and athlete Christopher McCandless abandons his possessions, gave his entire $24,000 savings account to charity and hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Along the way, Christopher encounters a series of characters that shape his life [imdb.com].
Yay, Nay or Rental Play?: Good film for us 20-somethings that need something ispiring to relate to/ to want/ to secretly dream up while we're sitting at work not doing much else...
The Jane Austen Book Club (limited):
Key Players: Maria Bello, Emily Blunt, Kathy Baker
Tag Line: You don't have to know the books to be in the club.
The Jist: Six Californians start a club to discuss the works of Jane Austen, only to find their relationships - both old and new - begin to resemble 21st century versions of her novels [imdb].
Yay, Nay or Rental Play?: It's like Sex and the City for you Jane Austen lovers... so more whimsical, less cigarette smoking, and hopefully less Mr. Big. Maybe I'll rent this when I'm feeling really girly...
[no preview available]
The Man of My Life (NY):
Key Players:Bernard Campan, Charles Berling, Lea Drucker
Tag Line:none
The Jist: Frederic, his wife Frederique, and their entire clan are spending another summer in their family house deep in the verdant Provecale countryside. A solitary gay man, Hugo has moved in next door. After a convivial dinner, Frederic and hugo stay up on the terrace until dawn, exchanging their radically different visions of love. Entirely unaware of their exchange, Frederique nonetheless notices a distance opening up between her and her husband, and a powerful bond developing between Frederic and Hugo - a bond which grows stronger daily [movieweb.com].
Yay, Nay or Rental Play?: Classic Foreign Love Story. Sounds good - and something to cozy into a blanket and watch on your couch. I love foreign film. Maybe it's because of the other language, but they always seem so much more romantic.
Randy and the Mob (ATL):
Key Players: Paul Ben-Victor, Lisa Blount - Brent Briscoe, Tim DeKay, Sam Frihart
Tag Line:none.
The Jist: A good 'ol boy (McKinnon) gets into trouble with some mobsters, and then must seek assistance from his estranged, identical twin gay brother [imdb].
Yay, Nay or Rental Play?: Oooooh, Lemons! Sounds like a whole lotta down south trouble! Kind of like... My Name is Earle - with a gay brother. That's a twin. Except, they're not a lot at all. Pass.
Resident Evil: Extinction :
Key Players: Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Iain Glen, Oded Fehr
Tag Line: Experimentation... Evolution... Extinction.
The Jist: Survivors of the Raccoon City catastrophe travel across the Nevada desert, hoping to make it to Alaska. Alice (Jovavich) joins the caravan and their flight against the Evil Umbrella Corp [imdb].
Yay, Nay or Rental Play?: Yes! The trilogy is complete. and in VEGAS! Girls with Guns - bitchin' Go!
Sydney White:
Key Players: Amanda Bynes, Sara Paxton, Matt Long, Jack Carpenter
Tag Line: Freshman year is no fairy tale.
The Jist: A modern retelling of Snow White set against students in their freshman year of college in the greek system [imdb].
Yay, Nay or Rental Play?: Clever. Modern-day play on Snow White in probably one of the most appropriate settings. Not all sororities are like this (mine wasn't) but I've seen it happen. Amanda Bynes is so stinkin' cute - how can you not go stare at her for a few hours?
