Bob Dylan to Record with Jack White?

White Stripes' Pal says a legendary collaboration is on the way.

The White Stripes' frontman Jack White could be set to record with Bob Dylan.

The paid could be set for a new music collaboration after a series of link-ups.

White has joined Dylan onstage before and contributed to the legend's radio show.

Most recently, White has been recording on some unfinished Hank Williams songs for a project Dylan is co-ordinating.

On that project, White worked with Steppin' In It bassist Dominic Suchyta, an old friend, and he believed there is every chance of the White Stripe and Dylan recording together in the future.

"I wouldn't put it past either of them. They seem to be cut from the same cloth, sort of misplaced Midwestern brothers," he told Paste Magazine. "I do know Jack has joined him on stage quite a bit and joined him for his radio show. When we were high school teenagers, we recorded quite a few Dylan tunes on our old four track reel machine."

He added: "I remember having a nice version of 'Masters of War' on some cassette somewhere. Jack played drums and guitar, I played bass and guitar.

Surprisingly not horrible. I heard Phish for some reason - and we all know how much I love Phish. I guess when paired with Psychedelic and Electronica, Dub is better thank Funk.... Stick to Thievery Corp.




Wyclef Jean - The Carnival II: Memoirs of an Immigrant
Hip Hop / R&B / Reggae
It's Wyclef. Need you Ask? He had me at Gone Til' November. He remains consistently delicious with every album. So yeah - you should listen - and yes you should like it. Done and.... DONE.




Alicia Keys - As I Am
R&B / Soul / Blues
I think this is slated for release in America next tuesday (11/13) but i have it on my list now - so i guess you get a week's early bird start. I Can't remember why I don't like her - but I don't for some reason or another --- I think it's more a personality thing that her music tho. Strong R&B beats - killer voice. Hell, I even like her new duet with John Mayer - I wouldn't actively go out and buy this tho because she irritates me. Go figure...




Sigur Ros - Hvarf/Heim

Yessssssssss. Sigur Ros = SOOO GOOD. I started listening back my sophomore year of college. Hello! Singing with sound. Kind of gives you room to interpret your own way and insert whatever words you think might fit. I have to imagine little icelandic children everywhere are cooing as they fall asleep to this beautiful music. Think... the most relaxing sound you've ever heard - stretched out on a sleeping bag on the floor under christmas lights. I'm sure most of you have heard of this --- if not - check them out. I promise you wil like.

New Music/Movie Tuesday (10/23/07)

Yeah, bitches. So my main focus right now is getting tickets to the World Series - because i'm pretty die hard Sox fan... and... i'll route for the Rockies because Underdogs are always great (hello, upcoming movie)--- not so much focused on music - but i did give all these a listen-loo.

Grindhouse is out... when does DeathProof hit my local movie store? I love that ending...

Angels and Airwaves - I-Empire
I think this isn't actually slated to come out until November 6th -- but this must be a UK date - and I'm going to do it now to get it out of the way :) Kind of annoyingly catchy beat. For some reason - that era that Blink 182 hit big - I lost interest and stopped loving that poppy (i almost said poopy), ska, punk sound... this continues down that path.






Black Dice - Load Blown
I think it may be manditory to like a band that names their album "Load Blown." You get what they claim: electronic experimental. Sounds like the opening to a better show. Long introductions - takes awhile to get to the point. I'm not patient today.






Blanche - Little Amber Bottles
Oh i love her. Surprise Surprise. Sami likes folk rock! This is more... old time melodic. Kind of country but not very twangy. But the banjo and cello kick ass (that's a bonafide sami review right there...). Oh yeah - and I could totally here "No Matter where you are" at the end of a Tarentino movie. YOU HEAR THAT QUENTIN!?

They're cobralicious. You will like them if you like that one band from Chicago with Pete Wentz...crap. what's their name. FALL OUT BOY!






Paul Curreri - The Velvet Rut
What's it like to be in a rut of velvet? About as frustrating as it is that I often wander off into some philasophilcal thinking rather than telling you about this album? hahaha. Dark voice. Something I would have expected on my so-called life.






Dave Gahan - Hourglass
Wierd. I kind of like this. Dark Alternative with a bit of an electronic Edge. Kind of reminds me of Vast without Chanting. Maybe even a smidge bit of NIN. I'd drive around to this when i'm feeling white and moody. When i'm feeling white and moody.







Serj Tankian - Elect the Dead (System of a Down lead singer)
Thrash. THrash. Thrash. I do not support... because I have a headache. Oh no wait... it gets better... moody metal. You can tell...






Sole & the SkyRider Band - Sole & the SkyRider Band
Man i was going to give instant props because they're out of Flagstaff! Sounds like a watered-down immitation of Rage Against the Machine. Maybe it's weak production --- i'd have to see them live.






The Thrills - Teenager UK: released 07/23
Meh - lukewarm - tho the "the" bands have really grown on me. Something I'd see at the Hi Dive - and my last experience at the hi -dive wasn't pleasant... so i'm not drawing very fancy memories...





Carrie Underwood - Carnival Ride
Female version of Kelly Clarkson - Go American Idol. She's pretty - she can sing. You secretly like her. This is familiar of her last record - but a little less... dark reba. i hate reba.





U.S.S.A - The Spoils
A big, veritile pile of crap. is what this is. just sayin.






Ween - La Cucaracha
I like "Object" simple rock... no complicated mumbo jumbo.--- I don't like balloons (Sounds like Greatful Dead layered over spanish tracks) Ween is wierd -- but everyone loves them :) I love Spanish Ween. La Fiesta de la Cucaracha.

I have only heard a few tracks. I love love LOVED The Self Titled Album... like - every track was Bam - AWESOME. Bam. AWESOME! Didn't latch on to Futures... maybe it's because it was when I saw them live and holy CRAP they put on a great show (even when you're standing next to your best friend who you're completely not talking to hahaha). So let me rely on a friend who bought the album today and said it was Ok - but nothing special.... I"m guessing it grows on you the more you play it...

Dark and Moody... Kind of reminds me of music from Snatch... Kingdoms of Rain reminds me of Johnny Cash Tone. Not sure why. I think if you like Mezzanine or Massive Attack - you'll like these guys.

This guys voice haunts me. In a great way. The voice seriously overpowers the instramentals... and clapping. This is something I'd put on when I'm cleaning the house. Or shining my shoes. I would expect to see this in the Memoir for Bret Michaels on VH1 someday... because this is just the kind of band he listens to while he's on the road... getting his heart broken by strippers.






Beruit - The Fly Cup Club

*Yawwwwwn* Completely unoriginal. Uncreative. Not unique. This does not at all remind me of the Killers flavored with a little bit of 80s or a little bit of Spanish Flamenco Ballad Music!






Fiery Furnaces - Widow City

The drums on this album are magnificant. Or Magnificent? Can anyone say America's Most Smartest Model? Can't remember... This is just the right kind of rock band to get you in the mix for moshing and not too busy. A welcome departure from their last go round. Me Gusto. Mucho!

Brings back rememberance to the wall of sound... plus a lot of the 70s harmonizing. Simple instraments - country guitar. I love it. I"m not at all bored by this.






LeAnn Rimes - Family

Very upbeat and... starting to sound a little bit like Reba McEntire. That's a definate "A OK" in my book... because as we all know - Reba has probably the best voice EVER... I wonder if it has something to do with her Sweet Show on the CW - and the fact that she completely RULED on Kelly Clarkson's song, "Because of You."

Most likely because they were introduced to me by my first first love - an adorable brittish boy who's heart I broke (not on purpose) that sent me three of their cd's from over seas. The lead singer's voice is so exceptionally different than I love them for life. This album gets a little more upbeat and rock from their past albums - but i think you should try it...

Hi, five years later. Where the hell have you been, Vanessa? Too busy Doing Stephen Jenkins (3eb)??? Welcome back to the music scene, beyotch. The single is growing on me. I hated the video and that it started out just like her first hit -- and to tell the truth - i kind of found her last album obnoxious -- kind of like Fiona Apple but unable to pull off the dramtic singing faces and not melodramatic enough. Hopefully this is better... and she's not such a brat this time around :).






The Cult - Born Into This

Completely not what I was expecting. Mellow Alternative. Kind of The Darkness meets Tool meets The Cure meets 80s rock (not hair) bands. Lots of influences in there - judge for yourself and see who you fish out.






Dashboard Confessional - The Shade of Poison Trees

I always think of two people when I hear Dashboard confessional from my Junior year art class -- Abe the Babe and this guy who's name I can't remember - except that he used the moniker "TheShortBus" on Instant Messenger. They always talked about how they were hardcore Dashboard fans far before they blew up and they were so pissed they got popular and *dun dun dun* sold out. But then they kind of just got really good at pegging the whole Emo pop scene and you know you were singing Vindicated everytime you saw Spiderman. The album is catchy and good for the road - so go ahead and call it a guilty pleasure - and just realize that everyone sells out at some point.

Sunset Rubdown - Random Spirit Lover

I love it. So experimental and fun. Kind of like you'd go see a live dj mixing with... a little added extra. Vocals sound a little like Modest Moust - but the beats are much different. Def. try it out.
